The Directors on our Board are drawn from all walks of life with a special interest in Nepal as a common bond.

Mary C. Carroll
Honorary Trade Representative of Nepal in the US and the first US citizen to receive the “Friend of Nepal” award from the Assocation of Nepalis in the Americas, the largest Nepali organization outside Kathmandu. She has led many projects in Nepal such as a summer day camp for 175 Nepalese underprivileged children; a medical camp staffed with 4 physicians and a crew of 25 in a remote region of Nepal; project for schools in Western Nepal and the Solu-Khumbu; a cultural exchange and concert series featuring Philadelphia performers in Kathmandu; a student International Exchange Program; and projects for the Amos Tuck School of Business with the Nepal Scouts, the Nepal Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation and the Patan Hospital. She has made 13 trips to Nepal over a period of 18 years trekking through 19,000' passes of: Namche/Gokyo/Cho-la, Langtang/Ganja-la, Annapurna/Thurong-la and others.

Janice Bogen
Director, Office of Internation Student Exchange Services, Jefferson University; has been working to establish a partnership between Jefferson and the Patan Hospital

Barbara Curtin
Co-director of the day camp project in Nepal and volunteer for the medical camp. She has been to Nepal twice for volunteer service and has had a lifetime of experience in handling youth, camps and youth activities of all kinds.

Nancy Hirsig
Member of the YMCA International Committee, has been to Nepal several times and has worked on projects there.  International travel and residence,  and volunteer work with an international  focus led to her current role.

Hridai Moktan
Entrepreneur with more than 14 years in corporate America, he is currently serving as the business director of Moktan Dental Care and ANEURONICS. He is committed to projects in Nepal that will benefit the people.

Sunil K. Nepal, Ph.D
Principal Research Biostatistician with Bristol Myers. Has a degree and interest in forestry; active in the New Jersey Nepali Committee.

Vivian W. Piasecki
Prominent leader in the Philadelphia region, she is very interested in international issues, well traveled, and has been to Nepal.

David W. Reynolds
The manager of Natural Resources Management Division of the Northeast Region of the National Park Service and has traveled to Nepal to establish the “Sister Park” agreement with Sagarmatha National Park.  He has professional international experience throughout the world, most recently Botswana and Namibia;, and is a former Peace Corps volunteer.

Pratikshya Sharma-Rijal
A recent graduate of Drexel University having graduated from Goshen College in Indiana and worked 4 years in business activities. She is now employed by Deloitte and Touche. She is committed to education as a means of alleviating poverty in Nepal and is currently supporting Nepali school children in their education.

Barbara B. Supplee (Barkie)
She has retired as a teacher, administrator and development assistant in US private schools. Her volunteer activities are extensive including a homeless shelter, educational institutions, music and dance organizations, environmental alliances, historic preservation organizations, hospice and Planned Parenthood. She has traveled extensively throughout the world, but has a special place in her life for Nepal.

Suman R. Timsina
Works in corporate operations at Bank of America. He is President of the Tristate Nepali Committee, the local Nepalese organization, and past Secretary of the Association of the Nepalis in the Americas, the international organization for Nepalis and their friends.
